IGFA has continuously supported scientific tagging and other data collection
programs, and works closely with fishery biologists in order to exchange
information and relay to anglers the particular needs and results of research
and conservation efforts.
Licensed by the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) to create a collection of sportswear that targets the serious fisherman, AFTCO Bluewater offers an exclusive line of clothing, distinguished by creative designs that depict the history of sportfishing, with IGFA labels and hang tags featured. The IGFA, respected worldwide as the keeper of freshwater, saltwater and flyfishing world record information, has in its over 60 years, not only developed fishing standards and tackle guidelines, but has also been instrumental in fishery research, education, conservation and fishery management. On December 19, 1998, the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame and Museum was opened in Dania, Florida.
